Automatons
Forged from metal, engraved with rune-etched circuitry, and powered by Exaltium cores, Automatons reflect the cold, unyielding legacy of arcanotech engineering. Some Automatons were designed for war, marching across battlefields with mechanical precision. In contrast, others were created for labor, carrying out the tasks of their makers long after those creators had perished. In the vast world of Enigma, many Automatons continue to operate, but their original directives have become distorted over time due to corruption or self-discovery.
These constructs vary widely, from towering siege units bristling with weapons to eerily lifelike servitors that mimic human behavior with unsettling accuracy. They can serve as either valuable allies or relentless foes. While some Automatons remain bound to their original programming, others have begun questioning their purpose, teetering on the brink of sentience. Are they merely tools, or do they possess something more profound—a spark of autonomy that defies their mechanical nature?
