The Fractured is not a being in the traditional sense; instead, it is a rupture in causality—a living paradox outside the confines of past, present, and future. To mortal eyes, it appears as a constantly shifting figure, flickering between moments of existence, never fully present nor absent. When it moves, it does so in unnatural, disjointed bursts, each step accompanied by a time distortion.

Those who encounter the Fractured experience memories that have yet to happen—glimpses of possible futures they will never reach—and the unsettling sensation of events unraveling around them before they even begin.

It does not communicate in words; instead, it conveys echoes of conversations yet to come, a cacophony of voices repeating phrases before they are spoken. It remains unclear whether the Fractured has a specific purpose or is merely a symptom of something more significant—a crack in the fabric of reality.

The presence of the Fractured distorts one's perception. Whenever a creature makes a Glean check contested by the Fractured, they do so with disadvantage.

Paradox Step: 2nd - Action - Navigate - 12 Spaces

The Fractured navigates through time and space. The Fractured can teleport to any unoccupied space that it can see within range.

Unravel: 3rd - Action - Manifest - 6 Spaces

The Fractured unravels the fabric of another creature's existence.The Fractured selects a foe within range. That foe must succeed on an Endure check against a Manifest die, or it will take escalation damage. If the target fails and rolls a 1 on their Endure check, they instead take double the escalation damage.

Chrono Collapse: 4th - Action - Manifest - 6 Spaces - Area: 3 Spaces

The Fractured disrupts the local timeline, causing everything to briefly exist and not exist simultaneously. The Fracture selects a space within range. All creatures located in or within 3 spaces of the selected area must succeed on an Endure check that is contested by The Fractured's Manifest die. If they fail the check, they take Escalation damage and lose one action on their next turn.

Unraveling Moment: 5th - Action - Manifest - 6 Spaces - Focus - 1 Minute

The Fractured disconnects an enemy from linear time, losing them between moments. The Fracture selects a target within range. The target must succeed on a contested Manifest check. If they fail, they are banished to a harmless, empty void for the duration of the effect. While banished, the creature can take any actions as expected, but it cannot interact with the original battlefield or any combatants in any way.
