Warp Maw
The Warp Maw was once a predatory reptile, but prolonged exposure to unstable Exaltium has twisted its biology and erased its place in the natural order. Its elongated jaws constantly shift, revealing new rows of serrated teeth with every snap. Each bite is accompanied by a sickening wet crack as flesh gives way to chaos.
Its body wavers between solid and liquid states, pulsing with formless tissue and bone that reconfigures with each movement, making it nearly impossible to restrain, trap, or predict.
This abomination doesn’t simply consume its prey—it absorbs them into its unstable mass, their bodies broken down in an endless, screaming digestion that offers no release. Observers who stare too long into its churning form swear they see faces—distorted, anguished, melting—pressed against translucent membranes that vanish as quickly as they appear.
The creature emits a low-frequency hum that disrupts nearby machinery and causes nausea as if reality rejects its presence. Some theorize that it is no longer a beast, but a living rupture in space-time, sustained only by hunger and hate. Wherever the Warp Maw hunts, the laws of physics twist and unravel, leaving behind warped shadows and terrain that buckles under its unnatural weight.

The Warp Maw body moves erratically, making it challenging to strike from a distance. The Warp Maw Horror gains advantage on Navigate checks to evade Ranged Attacks.
Jagged Lunge: 2nd - Action - Attack - Melee
The Warp Maw surges forward, its shifting jaws tearing through armor and flesh. Move up to four spaces and make a melee attack against a foe. If successful, the target's Endure die is reduced by one size, in addition to taking damage.
Unstable Consumption: 3rd - Action - Attack - Melee
The Warp Maw’s body liquefies and attempts to pull prey inside itself. Choose a foe within range. The target must succeed on an Endure check against Warp Maw's Attack die or be grappled. While grappled in this way, the target takes half of the escalation damage at the start of each of their turns, and their speed becomes 0. The Warp Maw can only grapple one creature at a time.
Phase Slip: 4th - Reaction - Navigate - 6 Spaces
When threatened, the Warp Maw destabilizes and reappears in a different location. When it is hit by an attack, the Warp Maw can use its reaction to teleport 6 spaces in a random direction.
Devour and Assimilate: 5th - Action - Attack - Melee - Focus - 1 Minute
The Warp Maw absorbs organic material to facilitate its regeneration. For the duration of this power, whenever the Warp Maw drops a foe to 0 Life Points, they regain Lifepoints equal to the level of Escalation.
